1. How do I know my data is going to be safe? The U.S. AirForce uses this software, as does NOAA, HP, JetBlue, The Coca-Cola Company, The NFL, OutBack SteakHouse, The Red Cross, Toyota, AmWay... So you should have every confidence in the software. As for hardware, we use redundant EMC hardware that replicates and stores data in a minimum of two data centers. We are so sure that your data is restorable that we make the following guarantee: If you ever attempt to restore data that has been properly backed up and are unable to -- we will refund 100% of everything you have EVER paid to us.

2. Is my data safe from prying eyes? Absoultely. The entities above would never use the solution if it were not. All data is encrypted using government standard AES 256 before it ever leaves your office, and is sent to us and stored as encrypted. We have no way to decrypt your data (as does Mozy who is mentioned at the top of this page.) If you lose your encryption keys we can not help you as you are the only person who can decrypt your data -- ever.

3. What if I lose a large amount of data? How long does it take to restore over the web? We can copy your data to a USB hard drive (encrypted, of course) and same-day-air it to you. So, in most cases it would take 12 to 24 hours to send you your data. (Please realize that you have the option to back up a local copy...so 85% of restores will use your local copy...it is only in those 15% of disasters that you need to go off site to get your data.) And if 12-24 hours is not fast enough for you, we can set up mirrored servers in our data center where we can keep you running minutes after a disaster at your location -- for much higher fees, of course.

4. Can I test my data to make sure it restores? Of course! And we strongly recommend that you do. In fact, we help you at no charge. Simply call our support line to schedule a test (and if don't your CRC account manager will be calling you) to make sure that you can restore your data on a regular basis.

5. My data grows and grows. How can I keep this solution from costing me a fortune? We have three tiers for storing data, each one less expensive (but also more time consuming to restore.) We can work with you to help you identify which data is so critical it must be immediately restorable (and is therefore most costly to protect) -- but also which data you can afford to wait 3 days or a week to restore (and that gets much less costly to protect.) We will work with you to ensure that you get all your data protected without breaking the budget.
